About Watertown
Watertown is the county seat of Jefferson County, New York, and the largest city in the North Country. It sits roughly 25 miles south of the Thousand Islands, along the Black River, about 5 miles east of where it flows into Lake Ontario. At its center is the Public Square Historic District, built in 1805 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Watertown is served by Watertown International Airport, making it easy to reach from most East Coast hubs.
Great Spaces South — Explore Florida
Discover “Retro” Florida.
Flagler Beach, FL | Minneola & Clermont, FL
Flagler Beach — Old Florida, Still Standing
Located along Florida’s Atlantic Coast between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, Flagler Beach offers miles of sparkling beaches, world-class fishing, beachside shops, waterfront restaurants, and natural parks. This is Retro Atlantic — no high-rises, no chain-resort sprawl, just salty style and friendly residents.
From our Flagler properties you can:
- Surf, swim, or walk six-plus miles of open Atlantic coastline with free beach access
- Fish the iconic Flagler Beach Pier
- Eat rooftop while local musicians play downtown
- Watch migrating right whales from shore in winter
- Catch a show at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre (45 min north via A1A)
A1A Scenic Byway & the Matanzas River
Our Flagler Beach rentals sit right in the middle of the 72-mile A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway — an officially designated American Byway. The route bisects Ponte Vedra Beach, weaves through St. Augustine, and ends in Flagler County at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area. It’s a dream stretch for nature and history lovers alike — home to sites dating from the 1400s Spanish conquest to the Civil Rights era, active sea-turtle nesting beaches, and seasonal right whale migration waters.
Matanzas Inlet
Just minutes south of St. Augustine and 20 minutes north of Flagler Beach, Matanzas Inlet is a salty paradise for boating, fishing, surfing, and shelling. There are miles of hiking trails, sandy nooks, and friendly locals with stories about how hurricanes have reshaped the shoreline over the decades. Kayak and jet ski rentals are available for exploring the Matanzas River — we recommend a jet ski run up to the three bridges of the inlet, then a drive north on A1A to St. Augustine, America’s oldest city, with a stop at historic Marineland along the way.
Minneola & the Clermont Chain of Lakes — The Other Florida
Thirty minutes west of Orlando sits a Florida most visitors never see. Minneola, Clermont, and Winter Garden are tucked into a landscape of rolling hills, oak hammocks, and spring-fed lakes — a world away from the theme-park corridor, yet less than an hour from the front gate.
From our Minneola & Clermont properties you can:
- Fish, paddle, or ski the Clermont Chain of Lakes (Minneola, Minnehaha, Louisa)
- Walk the brick streets of Historic Downtown Clermont & Downtown Winter Garden
- Taste Florida wine at Lakeridge Winery
- Play world-class golf year-round
- Day-trip to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld — then return to quiet
